As a number of satellite systems (GEO – Synchronous) are being designed
and deployed, it becomes increasingly important to be able to test these
systems under realistic traffic load. In this paper, an improved and efficient
verification scheme of satellite network protocol is proposed. The new
algorithm is based on the novel concept of using EP (evolutionary programming)
to probe the availability of network resources. Recently, EP has proved itself
to be an excellent tool for giving hood & efficient solution to hard to
solve problems.. To prove the effectiveness of our method we investigated our
work in TCP – Reno & TCP – Vegas. EP is able to find a configuration of the
traffic over the network. We have shown that the performance degradation in TCP
is much better by using EP than in GA (genetic algorithm). The existing methods
do not work well when congestion is less frequent but of longer duration. Our
method works well for this case also. The traffic produced by EP has been shown
to be self similar.
