In this paper opening mode stress intensity factor for graphite/epoxy laminates
with various lay-ups configurations such as, [0o], [90o], [±45o]s
and [0o/±45o/90o]s under in-plane loading is simulated using finite
element method. Opening mode stress intensity factor is then calculated
by use of quarter point singular elements and J contour integration for
each configuration. By comparing the results with values of stress intensity
factor reported from other methods, accuracy of this method has been investigated.
