A NEW CDM-PI–PD CONTROL STRATEGY FOR UNSTABLE PROCESSES

ABSTRACT
A new Coefficient Diagram Method (CDM) based PI – PD control strategy is proposed for unstable processes. The tuning formulae for designing the PI – PD controller parameters are derived using CDM as base. The proposed control strategy designated as CDM–PI-PD is tested with a numerical example.  Simulation results show that the proposed control strategy gives improved performance in terms of Integral Square Error (ISE), Integral Absolute Error (IAE), Total Variation (TV) and Settling time (ts)
